Barry Clayton, PGA
Director of Instruction
 
Barry has been the Director of Instruction at The Westin Mission Hills Resort since 1996. He coordinates all of our Golf Digest Golf Schools, Troon Golf Getaways, Westin Golf Academy Schools and private hourly lessons. Barry was voted by his peers as the "2003, 2006, and 2007 Desert Chapter PGA Teacher of the Year"  and continues to search for the most simple to understand teaching techniques. He has worked with and taken instruction from some of the worlds leading golf instructors including Jim McLean, Tim Mahoney, Mike & Sandy LaBauve, Craig Shankland and Dr. Gary Wiren. Barry is also a very highly rated player in Southern California having finished in the top 10 in numerous local and regional tournaments. He has taught thousands of golf lessons to golfers of all skill levels, and his biggest thrill is simplifying your golf swing and making understandable adjustments that will help provide more enjoyment in your golf game.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
David Curtis
Teaching Professional
 
David turned professional after leading his college golf team to the California State Championship in 2005.  He has honed his  instruction skills over the years with many hours of junior programs and golf schools at our facility.  Since starting at the Westin in 2006, David has taught more golf schools than any other staff member.  He has learned from some of the finest instructors in the country and is excited about passing along his knowledge to his students. Playing golf from the age of two, David is also an accomplished player who has won four PGA section tournaments.  David looks forward to helping you refine your golf game in a golf school or private lesson.
